Another photo from the Halifax Public Gardens. This is one of the fountains located there. This particular one was installed back in 1903. Written on the plaque was the following information: "Erected by the commissioners of the Public Gardens in commemoration of the services of our citizen soldiers in the South African Campaign 1899-1902." Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Wendell - Never boring, but clearly Boering! I like the perspective, providing the flowers and trees surrounding the statue. Thad

Clever punning title, Wendell. My knowledge of the whys and wherefores of the Boer War are pretty sketchy, so I'll hold my tongue there (not an easy task, I can assure you.......LOL). Lovely shot though.

I like this shot very much - it's quite beautiful and your post processing work really brought out the highlights without going over the top. I also love puns!

The title is as good as the photo Wendell. I like how the statue shines in the sunlight. Excellent capture.

Helllllloooooo Wendeeeelllllllllllllll !!!

So beautiful place to sit and read a good book and between one and another chapter look around and enoy nature beauty and life! Love it! But you could make some photo manipulation and put a beautiful flower in the hands of the statue and take out the gun! :-))))

Hey, Wendell....

Nice play on words in the title. A beautiful scene and a great place to eat a picnic lunch. Excellent use of light and dark and wonderful colors in the garden. There are just too many war memorials for my tastes.

Nice colours and good clarity in this photo Wendell. It should have got a better c-index.
