What we have here is the result of a mistake in the editing process. While I was busily editing this image to within a pixel of its existence I went a step (or dozen) too far in trying to achieve a different look without saving it first. Unable to return to what I wanted I was forced to revert back to an alternate version I had saved even earlier as I didn't want to spend another couple of hours getting back to where I had mucked things up.
I painted this Christmas diorama back on 1998. All the figures are cut out of wood and mounted on the backdrop scene. Had I been smart back then I would have enlarged the patterns so painting the figures would have been a lot easier.
I had to recreate the foreground and most of the background with more of that annoying cloning. The stars make no discernible pattern, though I did toy with the idea of adding a few constellations. I left the shadows in from the light sources used when taking the photograph, as well as a few mistakes. I do realize Santa is a few reindeer short of his usually compliment of eight or nine depending on your source.
Hope you enjoy and your comments welcomed. Enjoy your Holidays!
Merry Christmas
