I met this Old Man and snapped a few photos in the fading light of the day. He's been here for ages enjoying the view but generally ignored by those who come for the same view.
Wendell, how very creative of you! I see the old man and listened to his song. It has been a favorite of mine since I was a young man and its meaning has registered and changed with me as the years have been tacked on. Happy New Year to you! ~~ John
Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me the whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that's true.
So as I read the title I started looking for the old man, first I saw a person made of water in the center of the forground and then a face in the stone right. Beautiful waterfall and the song is super! Happy new year my friend!
Looks like I got here a little late. I'll pretend I'm the first and not read the other comments, Wendell.
You've just posted what I consider the perfect photo. Because there's so little water around here, regular waterfalls don't exist. After a heavy rain there's muddy water in the drainage ditches but nothing like this. This has wonderful colors, perfect exposure time which creates that milky look that I adore, fabulous contrast of light and dark and a well balanced shot.
I'm sure you'll tell me about some noise that I don't see or poor cropping that nobody but you would ever notice; but to me this baby is about as close to a 10 as you can get.
My personal feeling is A+++. I would nominate this for the permanent galleries, but I was told by a Caedes friend that a posting should be on Caedes for at least three years (or maybe weeks). Also it was suggested that I should never nominate a Caedes friend's shot. In keeping with those rules, hopefully a complete stranger will stumble across this in a year or two and nominate it.
