This wasn't supposed to happen this way. I went out the other day to take some test photos with a new lens. I just get the camera set up on the tripod and start to take a few photos when everyone and their brother and their pet and their long-lost cousin from out of town decide to traipse through the frame. Just as one group would disappear another would come along going in the opposite direction. It would take about five minutes for them to walk down the path before I would get a brief chance at another photo or two. The next time I go to test a new lens I'll head out to the middle of nowhere and take full blame for the lousy quality of the shots.

So while waiting for a break in the action I took the occasional snap with no thought towards composition. This would be one of them. It even turned out better than some of the shots without people in them. Sadly the building has to remain in the photo, without it the people living in town would have no water. But two young ladies were ruthlessly rubbed out of the far end of the shot as they unbalanced the photo.

Enjoy and your your comments welcomed.

I like your honest and blunt explanations of your new lens try out and the accompanying wit. I also like that you made the best of what you considered an unhappy situation and took this really fine image that brings the couple into sharp focus as everything around them is a little blurred, much as their attentions would be towards each other.

I really like candid or serendipitous images like this. Many good photographers did as you did in this instance.

Nice shot! I like how the trees form an arch. Isn't young love sweet?

They look like a couple of high steppers to me Wendell. Most of the people I know go shuffling. Me included.

As usual I enjoyed you witty narrative. I would have to get a new camera before I could test a new lens. Looks like you have a keeper for a lens.

Ahhh young love... I recently discovered the sweetness of that, and totally relate to this picture.
It is the reason why I have not been on Caedes lately. :)

Very sweet shot Wendell - not what you wanted perhaps but nicely done.

I like the natural border created by the trees, Wendell. Also the red stocking cap seems to create a colorful focal point for your shot. I know what you mean about people getting into your shots. Personally I think you pulled this off very well. I don't think there are enough good people shots on Caedes. The people give perspective to the shot. If everyone around here wasn't so ugly I'd include a few in my postings as well.

If I am asked about the disappearance of these ladies I am going to have to say that you ruthlessly rubbed them out! You kept the love birds and thats very nice of you! Great shot!

You have shot them accidently but in fact they are the 1st item who attract our attention. Girls are overall really very very attractive item to focus and they defeat all other items (nature, animal, structure). Can you imagine a world without girls? In that sense your photo became an extraordinary photo unfortunately....Bijan
