A recent, relative to the season, warm spell revealed this seasonal decoration that had been buried under the snow. Seeing as there is still a couple of three feet of snow packed around it. I figure it will have to stay there on the front lawn adding a bit of colour to the yard until a certain M. Nature sees fit to remove the rest of the snow before I pack it away till next year and promptly forget to remove it again.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Wendell - The spirit of Christmas lives on in Nova Scotia! It wasn't an oversight; it was merely a desire to keep the Christmas season a little longer - at least that was nature's plan with all the snow piling up. Thad

Nice work on getting such good detail on the basket and contents, Wendell. I like the depth created by the dark, blurred background. It looks like you've revealed that M. Nature doesn't care much for the edge of the basket since it's deteriorating under the duress. Curious little footprints approaching the basket. I guess rabbits don't eat silk poinsettias. Since it rarely snows here, perhaps you could indulge us with some snowy sunrise/sunset shots as you travel the barren trails in search of silk eating rabbits.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

I Imagine many yards are buried in the snow with Christmas treasures, Wendell.

A bit of colour it sure is and what stunning colours they are.Love the light in this shot, and the dead wood in the background gives this photo a love feel and brings the colours and basket forward, making the scene stand out.Well done to a great shot.

Excellent lighting Wendell and another wry but clever shot from you.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
