I would like to apologize up front for failing to properly introduce these two characters in yesterday's post. But, why bother.

Any how, Cecil and Cecile had a little spat over who should get the choicer bits from some recent roadkill, squirrel I believe, but by this time it was pretty flat and stretched beyond recognition. They squawked at one another for a time. Then the henpecking started, each pointing out the others faults. Finally they settled into a bout of ignoring one another as they slowly drifted apart the rift having grown deep, perhaps too deep for reconciliation.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed, maybe.

How funny, Wendell. Great narrative to go with your shot of the squawking crows. One of them will end up having to eat themselves. :) Wonderful timing on the shot.

Another good crow shot! I never tire of watching them - your "explanation" provides great humor to go with it as well!

The subject matter is right on, Wendell. Truly a wonderful capture of this married couple. She probably expected a higher quality of road kill for Valentine's Day.

I see this one is cropped a little tighter than yesterday's offering. As we've discussed in the past, crows are tough to shoot because their feathers soak up all of the light making accentuating the details a difficult task. From the closer view, it's apparent that the subjects are not perfectly sharply focused. It's better than anything I could do, but it's maybe a B- in my humble opinion. The background is adequately blurred but is awfully busy considering the difficulty in catching the detail of this squabbling couple.

Well, I'm off to the beach. It's raining like mad and is a 7-mile walk; so if I'm eaten by a bear along the way or hit by a Buick being driven by an 85-year old retiree, it's been a pleasure.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

So sad about this couple - I think it was just a lover's spat!

They seem to be weary of with each other. Fine capture though.

Wendell - Wonderful narrative to go along with this photo. I hope they reconciled! Some fresh roadkill will remedy that, I'm sure. Thad

My guess is that they act as their mate's sentry. They have 360 degree coverage when working as a team.

Its just a matter of time now when they will start calling each other some bad names! it really sounds bad when spoken in crow! You got a great shot of these two indifferent individuals!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . .
