I shot this photo last July in the Halifax Public Gardens. I should know what type of flower this is by now having seen many similar photos on this site. But the name escapes me. I'm sure someone, or two, will fill me in. Pretty much presented as shot, with the exception of the cloning.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Wendell - It looks like a well-cared for hibiscus. Nice post. Thad

Like Thad said I think its one of them Hibiscus jobbies! I really like that unusual color it has and that nice bright red sets it all off. Great Foofy!

I can see you have been given the answer that your inquiring mind wanted to know Wendell. It looks like the light washed out some of your color and detail. I like that the main focus is on the stamen. Good post.

Very nice compositional quality to your image, Wendell. I guess that means that I agree with the comment above. However, I see that you are having some of the same problems that I have with flower shots. You seem to need a depth of field that is a little broader inasmuch as a portion of the flower is well focused and other portions are not. I think the colors are very true and not washed out as noted by TicK, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just saw this in the VB and gave it a "6", mostly because of the focus issues. Everything else looks spot on, and I don't see the cloning that you mentioned.
