I was perusing my gallery and noticed it was sadly lacking in the boat category. This is an attempt to rectify that situation. Not a spectacular attempt mind you, no use going overboard as they say, just an everyday run it up the flagpole and see how it flies attempt. Getting space shots should prove interesting to fill that gallery slot.

I shot this last summer at the Caribou ferry terminal while waiting for the ferry to launch on its way to PEI. A bright sunny and warm day for the trip. Nobody was washed overboard and no invitations were made to walk the plank. The mutiny was postponed until the return crossing; though a few of us were quite keen on getting it out of the way quickly and get straight to the plundering.

So I invite you to come sail away and enjoy the photo. Your comments welcomed.

Wow this is some blue photo i like the reflections in the water of the boats and a very nice blue sky line too. This shot is even better when it is enlarged too.

I got caught up in the Styx undertow for a bit listening to some of their hits Wendell. Such a relaxing scene. Warm even. I am ready for days like this. Good post.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.

Clarity and focus are extraordinary, no noise to speak of, colors aren't oversaturated, but there sure is a lot of vastness in the shot although I wouldn't call it negative space. This might have worked better as a vertical composition.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

I like the subject, the composition, and I'm a great fan of horizons that are horizontal. In the world of photography they are not as common as one might expect. It may be my monitor but to me the blue looks overly strong. On the other hand, having a white boat against a blue water background is a good looking photo op.
