I would like to start off by saying I was only following orders. None of what followed was my idea.

This painting by some unknown artist was one of several murals that once adorned the walls of a veterinary clinic. The owners of said clinic decided the time was right to do some remodeling. Which included repainting all the walls in every room, mind you the colour choices were questionable. So that meant the murals had to go. I could have cut the wallboard out and removed them , but this thing is 3x4 feet in size and what am I going to do with a piece of crumbling wallboard? So I figured I snap a few pics for posterity before I took the sandpaper to this to start the eradication process. Quickly followed by some primer and a couple of coats of the new wall colour, blue for those interested in knowing things like that.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

They're certainly out of their mind to remove such a beautiful work of art!!! Thanks for preserving this on your camera, how I wish you saved it or sold it off to some art collector (3x4 size it too big for preservation). Faved my friend, I would want to frame this painting on my wall someday.

I'm not too Art oriented, though I liked this except for the yellow/orange sky. That blank sky garnered too much attention for me.

Having just come from our vet, which has murals all over the walls, it seems sad to have removed this. I find the murals somehow calming and this is really quite well done, thanks for saving a little of this.

Surely the animals were not complaining about the scene Wendell. Too bad the owners don't have a sense of art about them. Good idea to save for future generations of pups, kittens, kids, etc ..........

It is a nice painting of wildflowers and I really like that fencerow. It is a shame that someone spent so much time painting it and it will now be unappreciated and gone Wendell.

You're a man, Wendell, of great strength of character and an abundance of fortitude. Good intentions aside, this very well could be your 1st posting in the teens. I have a hard time, as you know, with photographs of statues. Add photographs of art work to the list. If you had been to the Louvre and had taken some shots of the Mona Lisa, I might have liked the shot a little more but not much. You did a skillful job of replicating the mural; so kudos to you for that.

Beautiful colours and sad to see it go, so glad you captured it to let us all see the vivid colours and painting of this mural
