... or "My day in Exile".

I don't know about the rest of you, but I spent my day wandering the wilderness. Never having been banished before it seemed somewhat appropriate. Next time I'll be better prepared and maybe pack some bug spray, a bit of lunch would be nice too. So maybe it's not the untamed wilderness, but in all fairness I didn't have time to book a proper trip to the middle of nowhere. I did take care to be off the beaten path, just kindly ignore it off to the left. I wasn't alone in my wanderings by any stretch of the imagination. There were a good number of other people roaming that day, some of them with purpose and quite a few aimlessly. Which is one of the reasons for being off the beaten path in the first place. All that aimlessness tended to put them on a collision course with my shots.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Lush looking wilderness here Wendell - and you managed not to capture another wandering soul!

This is certainly a majestic looking area. Really nice, tranquil feeling one gets just looking up that stream. You could put your waders on and walk up the stream for shots, is that what you did? Great work anyway.

Looks like a great place for a stroll, or to sit down and read, enjoy a sandwich and drink, or just drink in the beauty, as you did.

Beautifully done. I love the colors and lighting. I went trekking the other day taking pictures in 100°F heat without water. That ain't very bright, is it?

At least you weren't gone 40 years Wendell. A lot to look at and enjoy in this scene Wendell. Sometimes getting out and "roughing" it makes the recliner seem extra special.

See what happens when you get out of your speeding car and take a few shots at under 90 mph? Wendell, this one's a treasure. I cannot find a single thing about this posting that I don't like and admire.

The focus is flawless. The composition feels just right to me. All the colors are right on, but the reds in the bridge and gazebo in the back stand out. What is particularly striking and catches my eye is the conifer on the other side of the stream lazily leaning towards the water and especially the textures and colors of the bare roots and the moss/foliage up the slope from the tree. You have used the light and dark contrast to your advantage to create some real depth. An 8.5 out of 10.

Lovely looking woodland shot and a beautiful looking river. The colours in the far embankment are stunning.Plus by the look of the tree on the far embankment you will have a new bridge soon.I also love the sunlight in the lift of the photo and the cool shade on the right.Well done great shot.
