A return to the road series. This particular farm is located in Brookfield, NS. Well more precisely on the outskirts of that community and given the size of the farm land, I'm sure it exudes into the neighboring community.

Some cropping was briefly involved in the composition of this shot. One of those "a little off the top and bottom" situations. Maybe should have gone a little off the side as well. Outside of that, there was the usual cloning to remove all traces of this place ever having made it into the modern age. Definitely messed with the lighting and colours for effect.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I think you did a very good job with the cloning, and the cropping is not bad at all. What a great place to have a home.Love all the green in this shot it makes the scene look very fresh looking.Plus i love the sunlight running across the farm land too.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Wendell - Just a 'little dabbling', as Owd Bob would say. I like the cropping you did - its very fine image. Thad

I believe I saw an earlier version of this shot, Wendell, and that we all agreed that this was between Shandon and Metamora, but have it your way.

I'm gonna go out on a limb on this critique, Wendell, and tell you how much I am enjoying this shot as a simple and gloriously beautiful desktop shot. I know I'll get a ration from you because you think this is blurry and that is over-saturated, but this shot is just about THE perfect desktop posting. Normally I would say something about there being too much sky or too much foreground greenery, but the composition feels perfectly balanced to me. I used to get "Country" magazine and "Country Living" magazine. They were full of two things - recipes and beautiful photos of farms and country living. This shot is as good as any cover on either magazine.

I just got some Windex and a clean cotton towel and wiped down my monitor for a close view of the downloaded version at 400% and found no noise. I also inspected the areas where the sky meets the buildings and the native grasses. I always end up with discoloration and noise, but your shot has neither. At 600% I can see some slight pixel fragments around the buildings. Not sure how you did this, but this one is nearly a 10 in my book. This is a stunning example of what appears to be the joy of photography.

A good job of messing around Wendell. One has to get to the hill before he can go over it. I like the view from this side the best.
