This particular farm, if google earth is to be believed, is located in the beautiful community of Shubenacadie, NS.

In order to bring you the pleasure of seeing this photo I demolished one home, tore down a several fences, releasing in the process a small herd of dairy cows, so if you see them keep in mind they urgently need to be milked. Again, power was disrupted to a vast swath of this valley. And I took it a step further when I tore out a radio transmission tower. So if you are not getting any mobile phone service, you have yourselves to blame for wanting to see a clean picture.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I think it's great that I'm not the only NEAT FREAK here. I think you should have cloned or cropped the immediate foreground earth, as the green is a more pleasant and abundant lead-in. The earth presents a sort of barrier.

I am one who doesn't mind all the modern signs that show through in a photo Wendell. Especially when I have to work until the cows come home..........if they do. Great post.

Wendell - Wendell? Wendell? Are you there? I can't hear you - are you still there? Suddenly the call was dropped, my computer went blank and the lights went out. I don't know what happened, but, hope you're okay. By the way, the price of milk just jumped up a lot at the store.

There are some beautiful farms across the rolling hills of Nova Scotia and you have captured well another one here. Thad

Great post photo work, Wendell, if indeed you spent all that time removing fences, cows, power lines and structures. I don't see any seams or cloning, but Caedes is not allowing me to see full sized versions again. I typically click up one size from the bold version listed and then download it to look for phantom coyotes and the like. OK now I've been able to download the shot; so ignore what I just said.

I agree with Doug abut the creek bed in the foreground. I'm also delighted to see that you're struggling with the same problem that haunt my landscapes. The trees in the background seem indistinct and blend together. Maybe it's a haze issue. If you figure out how to fix that, please let me know.

I'm happy that you left some of the structures for us to enjoy. The shot exudes serenity. Wish there was some way you could have eliminated half the sky without the shot becoming one of those horizontal pencil shaped monstrosities.

My suggestions: Eliminate much of the sky, replace some of the background with Mt. Etna, clone out the ditch in the foreground, tell the farmer his buildings are spread out too much and should be moved closer together...sort of like a group shot at a family picnic where one side of the family doesn't care for the other side and you're saying, "Bill, you and Alice move to the left, and Frank, you and the kids move right behind grandma."
