As they say, you take the high road and I'll either stand here watching you walk away or take the other path. Chances are you'll be running up that hill long before I get there. Unless you're like me and get distracted and start taking photos of things seen along the way, and then forget which way you were going and end up in some place you never knew existed and by the time the search party finds you three days later you have already filled up all your memory cards and the batteries have long since drained when standing before you is Sasquatch playing poker with Nessie, a unicorn and a leprechaun who has bet the whole pot of gold on the next hand. But it doesn't matter because you would have used the wrong camera settings anyway or left the lens cap on.
Of course none of that has anything to do with this photo.
Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

The third sentence of your narrative has been nominated and confirmed as the longest single sentence in the written history of mankind. Congratulations are also in order in that it has been nominated and confirmed as being a perfect circular sentence inasmuch as it goes a long distance, begins and ends in the same place but goes nowhere.
Excellent job of capturing this scene in lighting conditions that I would avoid like the plague. The image has wonderful detail and fantastic light and dark contrast that gives splendid depth to the shot. The horizon is either leaning left or right as indicated by that tree on the left. You know the one. No further to the left. Now right. Right a little further. Yes, that one.
The image has beautiful and well lit colors in the background. Except for the non-existent horizon problem, the shot looks great.
