A photo of the old fire hall in town. The building dates back to 1899 with an addition built in 1915. It was replaced in 2004 with the construction of a new fire hall around the corner.

Some wiring was removed from the scene, but there was no way I was going to remove all of it in the background. The perspective corrected as best as possible to remove any lean due to the camera angle.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Marvelous work at capturing the conspicuous detail of the bricked structure, and the lighting of the scene is perfect. (It seems as if the sun is still rising, if I'm right.) =) Great angle and perspective as well!

Hey, Wendell...

Even though I'm on "hiatus", I'll let you know that I think you really did a great job on this shot. Really excellent detail work, nice colors and textures in the brick, no noise, fine perspective and very smart using ShiftN (or whatever) to correct the building lean. Nothin' wrong from what I can tell. Happy that there are no park benches or mud puddles in this shot although I am surprised to see the fire hydrant so close to the old fire house. Is this the same area where they had the fire hydrant out in the middle of a swamp?

An impressive building. It has stood up well for being that old. Shot is from a great angle.

I like the way the light shifts in this shot from darker on the left to lighter on the right - it serves to highlight the building well.

Reminds me of when I was a young man and learning to be a boy scout. We held our meetings in the fire hall until it burned down.

A really good composition Wendell. It looks like they had to add a stall later on. I like the old house looking on. All the brick work looks great. Nothing but superlatives on this beauty.

What are those wires doing in this photo??? Why didn't you take them out and make me happy??? I can't focus on anything else with them there:):)Why are you ignoring me?? Now that I've got that off my chest this is a very nice capture of the nostalgic building Wendell. Very nice post-work as well:).........why are those clouds in this picture?
