This is the quintessential Wendellesque shot if there ever was one. First of all you have the fundamental element in a truly genuine Wendell, the bench. Like Picasso's signature, every truly authentic Wendell has a bench. No signature required. There have been fakes and forgeries, but this is the genuine article. The second necessary trait is the tremendous contrast between light and dark that I avoid at all cost. Wendell's motto, "The harsher the light is, the more I like it," rings as true today as the day that it was originally spoken by this photographic pioneer.
Nice shot, Wendell. Doesn't look like many people sit in that bench. A rolling bench gathers no moss.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Wendell - Judging by the leaves on the bench, it has remained without visitors for some time. I hope you brushed them aside and rested a while while enjoying the woodland view. Thad
