A side view of front row seat. For those of you who thought the hill was unstable note the wide separation of the bench and hillside. Unless you're sitting with your back to the hill you'll have plenty of warning should it suddenly decide to go wandering. You still end up buried but at least you get to see it coming and perhap get a snap or two off.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

This one wins by a landslide over the other photo Wendell. The colors and the winding road are things photos are made of. The sky could be a little nicer but you might have had to wait for awhile.
A good post.

The colors are gorgeous and the curve draws you in to the image. I think the bare tree on the left pulls your eye away and perhaps could be cropped a little with just a suggestion of the bare branch. Whaddya think?

Super capture Wendell, at least the bench is a little away, love the look of the path and the curves deeper into the forest following the stream. Gorgeous colours

Hi, Wendell...

I'm not sure if you're using a special "technique" in your post photo work, but I happen to like it. While even the tree in the foreground left is softly focused, the whole shot seems to have a shimmering effect. It works well with this shot because of the colors and the perspective. Excellent composition, but I'm troubled by the purple shadows in the top left. When you figure out what causes that, let me know because it happens to me far to often.

If this hill were in California, they'd probably put some erosion control measures since California seems to slide into the ocean every time it rains. Maybe your soil is more stable, but the folks in the local parks dept. would be afraid of potential lawsuits if this was left like this.

P.S. I'm not sure who "lmass" is, but her comments and photos show that she knows her stuff.

I agree that the tree on the left is way too distracting from the rest of picture and doesn't serve well as a frame. Perhaps cropping would help, although you wouldn't want to lose all of that beautiful stream. I enjoyed this photo...Tom

With a crystal blue sky you would have had a perfect autumn shot - comp is excellent and had you cropped the tree you would have lost some gold color in the background that highlights a dark tree mass. Very nice.

I do like the photo, the angles with in the shot are wonderful, taken the eye from left to right. The colour are stunning in this scene and nice focus too.The bench looks safer in this shot, you have a chance to move quick just in case the hill does come down and you can leap into the stream and swim to safety lol.I also like the light in this shot it gives the scene a spring feel to it my friend, well done.

It's a pretty shot, Wendell. I agree with trixxie and imass.A clear blue sky gradient and a crop, right up between the two central limbs/branches will still take in the creek and eliminate the only distractions.

What a lovely park! I wish I had a park like that close by... Beautiful autumn colors and clear detail and lighting, and nice angle as well. Wonderful and superb capture indeed!
