Okay so this fellow is a late riser and missed the wake up call by 9 or 10 hours. But he does have an excuse, later tonight he will be conducting the symphony, so he is getting in a little practice before the big performance.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Cute bird. I like the wing spread you captured. A little dark on his head - can't really see his face.

Hi, Wendell...

Nice link. I'm close personal friends with Anton Rubinstein's younger brother Rubin. Maybe it's his sister Ruby. Either way it's completely irrelevant. I was never sure what their mother was thinking since they all have the same middle name Robin. Seriously, I went to school with a girl named Cookie Cutter and worked with a guy named Michael Hunt.

Pretty good composition except that his toes are missing. In technical photographic terminology they call that "Pulling a Roger". Looks like the light is coming from his back which might explain the dark body. I'm surprised you didn't just use the mirror command so that he's facing the sun. No noise, good colors, fair lighting, somewhat soft on the focus but better than any bird photo I ever took. With that information and a dime, you can't buy a damn thing.

Roger

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.

I like this pose - difficult contrast conditions with a body of water and sun high in the sky - nicely handled.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
