... or "Suitable For Framing".

One of a series of designs I found in a tole painting magazine. If the signature is to be believed I painted this way back in March of 2000 on a coffee table. To keep a long story short I finally got around to snapping a few shots of the designs today.

I hate painting flowers! Seriously. There I said it.

I can never get the petals to look right. Come to think of it I haven't really nailed shading either amongst a whole host of other things painting related.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

You did a good job of painting Wendell. You have talent galore.
If you had any friends you could make this a Welcome sign.
Glad you got around to sharing this one.

If you sneaked into my house and painted this on my oak coffee table, I would hire a bunch of newly released inmates from the Atascadero State Hospital for the Criminally Insane to take care of you so that your painting career came to an abrupt end. Many of the folks there are in for cannibalism and performing perverse sexual acts on Canadians; so they're not a crowd that you want around your house.

As you know, I'm not a fan of photos of statues or photos of paintings anymore than I'm a fan of paintings of photos. However, I can see that you did a fine job on the table - even if it is a bunch of flowers, and you did a very nice job of capturing your work with the photograph. I was an art major at the University of Iowa. Perhaps I'll post a photo of one of my more provocative nude self portraits which my wife has nicknamed "Tiny" for whatever reason.

It's a great talent you have and you should show it off as much as possible. Soon, you'll be known as the guy that paints stuff on table tops. I look forward to a long series taking us into the fall season.

For someone who hates painting flowers you did a fantastic job on these & roses no less. Great use of color, light, & shadow & that ribbon is nicely rendered. ...Ed
