This was as close as I was going to make it that day. So now I'll never know what is down around the corner. It could have been my destiny or fate awaiting me and I'll never be the wiser. Instead I decided to heed the call of nature or whatever was making that grunting sound coming from the bushes.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Here in Florida that grunting noise would be a wild pig!

Long before the white man and long before the wheel, when the dark green forests were too silent to be real. Light foot 1967

The grunting noise here on Cape Cod could have been a tourist realizing he just sat down in a poison ivy patch.... It looks like a beautiful walk but I would probably have stopped and turned around about where you did, so now neither of us will know. But then that's what adds to the great mystery and joy of being alive...

Either a 'Naughty couple' have a 'rare' moment!...Or a bear that's farted to warn you off!

I hope you manage to go back here mate...you got my curiosity wondering just whats around that bend!

A path not taken eh? Now we'll never know but a good shot does remain from the adventure.

Generally there is another corner around the corner, Wendell.
Good lead in lines and the call of nature was your stomach growling. So about the bear and the woods...............

Can't blame you, I don't believe I'd venture in there either. Nice capture though.

My gosh, Wendell. That road has "welcome" written all over it. I can't believe that an 87 year old woman like Dorothy wouldn't hesitate for a second to see what was what, and you chickened out. We have a number of roads like this around here, and I think I've walked 'em all. The problem is that woods like these hide lions, tigers and bears (oh my). While I don't worry about myself, my little dogs occasionally think it's fun to chase the occasional coyote or bobcat. Luckily they understand the word "no" especially when the decibel level is commensurate with a sonic boom.

Lovely shot with a spectacular variety of shades from bright light all the way to deep in shadow. This shot makes me yearn to see what is down that road. Fascinating image.
