Picking up from where we left off yesterday. These two along with several other siblings were the target of the hunter. I must say I have never before seen squirrels stay so still for an extended period of time. They were clinging so tightly to the tree trunk that I doubt if a pry bar could have wedged them off of the tree. Though they scurried surprisingly fast to a new location whenever the owl made a swooping pass in its attempts to grab some fast food. When I left the two groups were still at a standoff.

I too like the composition with the two different directions - it adds to the appearance of being frenzied and afraid to move.

Oh my, it was worth waiting all the time to see this...
Poor cuties, I hope they made it. Being aware of the natural laws of survival, does not stop one from keeping the side of the victims. Particularly when they are so sweet and utterly harmless. Oh, all right owls are harmless too.

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
Great capture of these two. They look like they are covering each others backs from whatever danger they sense!! It couldnt have been you causing them to freeze???? ha ha Well done - brilliant light, clarity and subject.

Squirrel on the menu hope it not my little friend that it is eyeing up lol.Very nice capture and spot on composition and love the light and shade in this photo too.
