Just messing with the colours and lighting for the lack of anything better to do on these cold, dark days of winter. You can only shovel so much snow before your fingers get frozen stiff to the shovel handle. Or you forget where the house is because it's now lost in huge drifts of snow that you may or may not have shoveled onto it.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Now this is a beauty of a wasp. OOps... not a wasp ? So what then? Let me check, hornet is a wasp but bigger and more vicious maybe. Not this one here. This is a beautiful, gentle and delicate female hornet dressed for the occasion and better than any Kate or other Angelina. Lovely effect - dear Wendell.
Am considering using it as my DT. Does it sting ...? :)

Come on, Wendell, what's all the buzz? such a stinging review of the weather up there in Nova Scotia. Why don't you just put down your shovel and hive in the house with your honey and wait for spring. It would be better for the collective not to have to hear your gripes all winter long!!

Seriously though, quite a nice pic you created tonight. Especially now that we know your fingers were frozen while you were working on it.

Super cool image Wendell! What better way to pass the cold winter Nova Scotia days than editing photos.

Thought you might have found my old car!...I once had a 'Blue Hornet' nearly 40 years ago!...

It was a good mover too! this would be if it took off after you

I do like the blueness of it!

This is one amazing looking photography and the soft blue colour is stunning with great detail in the hornet and stunning composition too,Plus the light that plays across the petals is superb to it like you are looking into a fantasy would and we are so small.Great job Wendell keep it up and only just managed to open full size and I must add love how the blue is reflected in the hornets body and especially it eye.
