A duck carefully picking its path out down the snow bank to the open water at the duck pond. There might have been a patch of about 10 sq. ft. of open water for them to wade about in and most of it was filled with duck. I think it got to the point where one would slide in one side and another would pop out on the other side.

That's a great shot Wendell!!! You've captured the duck perfectly - he really has that look of determination about him and is planning his move to jump into the pond at just the right moment!!!

This is one beautiful looking close up and the colours are amazing along with the detail and compstion .Love how you captured the mallard it looks like it getting ready to do a head dive in the the water ,Well done and thanks for sharing this post Wendell.

He has a very determined look on his face. I think he should have just pushed off and dove the rest of the way. Excellent color and clarity in this shot, Wendell.
