Has some resemblance resemblance with a compass, Bruce. I must say however that in my active career I never saw a compass that fine. The proper functioning (pointing into the correct direction) was more important rather than its beauty. For your 'compass' it's the opposite, Buddy. You've succeeded in doing this very well!
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!
