Last weekend Sue and I visited Lake Orville and was able to witness a rare occurrence of water gushing down the 3000'+ spillway and crashing into the blocks of concrete called "baffles" which dampen the force as it enters the Feather River. It creates a fairly good "wind" across the river sending plumes of mist across the river and up the opposite side of the river and up the hill a few hundred feet!! Such a sight to see and witness:):) Enjoy if you can!

Bruce, this is an excellent 'bird's eye view' of this phenomenon.
It must have been impressive to see this live in the company of your wife.
If the gushing water makes a sound similar to a waterfall, it has only increased the impressiveness, Buddy.

If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins! Please CLICK HERE to see my journal! Feel free to save my images or to add them to your favorites.
