My mother and I went to a re-enactment of the Dade/Seminole battle in Bushnell, Florida. It's about 55 miles north of here. There was an oak reported to be about 500 - 800 years old that my mother posed with. There's a few of these trees left in Tampa but urban sprawl is turning a lot of them into mulch. This was taken in 2004.

Your mom was a really sweet person...you can see that from the photo. And that is a ginormous tree! (My dad is in a retirement home in Tampa...he's 97!) Good one.

Alex, because you've provided us some fine captures of your late Mom in the past, I saw instantly that this one was a capture of your mother again.

Cherish these sweet moments, my friend, because as long as she's in your memory, she really hasn't gone for always!

I know that tree well, we have our family reunions at that park.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)
