This title sounds like "The Pelican Brief" by John Grisham. Anyhow, this shot was taken in March 2014 at Riverhills Park in Temple Terrace Florida. Temple Terrace isn't near the Gulf of Mexico where you would expect to see these birds, so in that regard it is a bit odd.

Very cool shot Alex - I didn't know that pelicans branched on trees - I usually see them dockside - Great Capture!!!!!!

What an unusual shot...have never seen them in such an environment...usually they're sitting on a dock...a good one and early one for Manic Monday when all kinds of odd things show up, lol.

I remember the pelicans sitting in a tree outside our condo when we vacationed on Sanibel Island in Florida. However we were right on the beach and those goofy birds were everywhere. In fact one fell out of the tree while we were walking to the beach so I love this shot Alex - nicely captured.

It is unusual to see them on trees since they are otherwise always near water. Good photo of the "Tree Pelicans".
