This picture was taken almost one year ago today. Many of the old growth trees disappeared years ago due to the cypress shingle trade, and logging in general. There are still some grand old trees lurking deep in the swamp. This was taken at nearby Morris Bridge Park.

Alex, if a gator would be threatening you, think it will be hard to climb this tree for some protection ( ☺ ).

But I see that there was no danger, else you weren't be able to capture this fine scene, my friend.

It is good to see a cypress that has not been harvested and is able to grow to maturity. Our greed consumes too many resources.

Thank you for sharing.

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine The Earth without art is just 'eh'.

God shot of this "survivor" against the "thin trees". The rate at which we are destroying mother earth I wonder how it will look in a 100 years.
