A great egret at Lettuce Lake taken 02/01/17. I may have mentioned but when we moved from my old apartment of 21 years to where we live now, it took us much closer to Lettuce Lake Park, so much so that the river runs practically right by our new place.

You got a real close shot Alex in that swampy looking environment. Hope you had some good shoes for the occasion. Good one.

Life's moments are sweet. I just want to capture all that I can of them.

In spite of the shy character/behaviour of egrets, you've succeeded perfectly in portraying this one, Alex.

Think that it got used now to your presence near the Lettuce Lake Park now, my friend, ☺ .

Very good one!

We were in Naples last week and had the pleasure of seeing many egrets, as well as other birds.

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine The Earth without art is just 'eh'.

Geez, I want Alex's playground! You always seem to have the most adventure filled walks. You must also have a bit of animal charmer in you, as these glorious beasties consistently pose beautifully for you. You make it look easy.

I ran across some nesting pelicans one time, many years ago. I was at a bad angle and distance to photograph them however. So I spent 20 exhausting minutes, carefully and quietly, crawling on my tummy through cold mud, under and around thorny branches and brambles, until I got to the perfect spot. I was so excited! I raised the camera to my eye, ready to capture an incredible shot. Then ... my camera made the teeniest, tiniest of noises (which seemed amplified across the water) as I zoomed and focused. And ... *poof* ... the pelicans were gone. :|

Sigh ... some of us have it (points to you) and some of us don't (nuff said).

Another lovely photograph, Alex. Respect!
