This is a test. My two postings today are identical, other than the fact one was uploaded as a JPEG and the other as a PNG…but, which is which? So, no need to comment on both, but, if you’d be so kind as to view both and comment as to if you can see any difference between the two. Plez view both at 1600 x 1200, even if you generally view at a different size. If you see no difference, that’s OK too. We…myself and another (Special unnamed party) are keeping score.

you've kind of picked a duff subject matter for the experiment as digital artefacts are only really visible in larger areas of uniform colour - it is these areas that receive the most compression during an image save :-)

To my eyes, at magnification, this version (Vuja De) is just a tiny bit sharper. Light specks on the petals are sharper-edged on this than they are on the Deja Vu version.

Gorgeous picture Randy :)

On my screen without any magnification, just viewing them side by side the Deja Vu version is a bit sharper in the centres of the flowers and the yellow is marginally brighter.
Six of one and half a dozen of the other I would say :)

Not a lot of difference in these two Randy.....I don't suppose it makes a lot of difference!...the colours and quality are very identical....both are superb>>>>

I can't tell a lot of difference either Randy. They both appear to be stunningly captured with wonderful colors. So you'll have to tell us about the PNG ;) Well done

I think this is PNG. Like I said on the other one. This is a touch of more detail on the flower in the middle of this three. But on the other side my glases maybe wrong :)))
Anyway the picture is amazing. Color and sharpness is excellent.

Thanks a ton everyone for grabin' hold and straining your eyes to maybe find a difference here. Well, Déjà Vu was the JPEG, which was 1600x1200 @ 1.49MB and Vujà Dé was the PNG upload of 1600x1200 @ 5.25MB. I looked and looked and couldn't tell a huge difference myself. If you DL both at 1600x1200 they'll both be a JPEG due to conversion but you'll notice that Vujà Dé, the PNG, will be just a wee larger size. The JPEG initially came out with a higher score than the PNG.
