Another great shot. One day I'll learn how to use this camera of mine. Right now it feels like a boat anchor.

This is another FABULOUS shot. Great close up and colours wow, the detail of the inside of the water lily is fabulous. Really great job, Jonathan.

Another Zen image... Luminous lily, floating alone in water: the moon falls to earth.

Both are strong compositions Jonathan.

Can't really compare the two ... as in my mind they are apples and oranges when it comes down to concept.

Mary, above ... took the operative word right from my fingers for this one here ... 'Zen' indeed.

As much as I agree with RKG's observations on your other lily photo ... in that the light appeared a tad flat ... I don't find that element to be in need of as much adjustment with your offering here. If any, at all.

Quite a different visual quality to this one. Understated in a word. And elegant as well. I really like the subtle 'shadows' of the underwater leaves of the plant in this one as well.

Both are fine shots.

There is some CA ... somewhat visible, more so, along the lily's flower's petal's edges. That can be corrected in Photoshop and other image editing software. No biggie though.

Yeah, the quality of light here, adds ... rather than detracts, in my humble opinion. Perhaps, cloning out the 'brown' spots in the right would make this one more pristeen. Again, no biggie.

I say ... well done.

Might be interesting though ... to lower your camera's perspective as suggested by RKG. Perhaps more emphasis could indeed be brought to bear on shape, curve and form of the lily.

Next time then?

Would be some good companion shots to the two you have already posted.

And but of course, thank you for sharing these two with us. :o)

She really stands out from the background. The lily speaks for herself. I didn't even notice the brown spots until mentioned above and they don't bother me.

The pads in this one are ok. The green underwater has a cool effect. The dying one in the bottom corner takes away from the shot. Overall its a nice shot with some touch ups here and there. I cant get over how beautiful just the flower looks. Great potential.

If 4 out of 5 people SUFFER from diarrhea...does that mean that one enjoys it? Ever wonder about those people who spend $2.00 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backwards: NAÏVE . If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked, and dry cleaners depressed? What hair color do they put on the driver's licenses of bald men?

Amazing shot Jonathan! Beautiful Lily. Contrast of colours is great! My honest opinion is that this image is better than rework. Colours on this capture more rich and fresh. But I like both of them. Thanks for sharing! Faved.

One of my favorite subjects. You did this very well - it's so difficult to get the white just right.
