This is what we call over here a Peewee, its a small version of the magpie family, this little fella hangs around all the time, as you can see he has one leg, he lost that last year when he was attacked by a neighbours cat, he was lucky to be alive, it took 2 weeks before he was ready to fly off again.... enjoy

He looks really healthy in this capture Jac. We don't have any black and white birds here except woodpeckers. You have great detail and the color is really good. Well done all the way around. Thank you for sharing this with us :~)

The black and white looks very vibrant against the softened background. The feathers are beautifully detailed, and the bird has an inquisitive look on his face. Wonderful shot!

Aww, poor little birdie... The same thing happened to one of the piggeons that visit us regularly... to eat our chicken's food. :))

Beautiful clear picture Jacqueline and a great capture, even if he did just pose for you. Do these smaller versions of magpies make the same horrendous noise as the maggies? This wee fellow looks quite happy with his one leg.

Such a clear shot! I love the pattern of his feathers. What a beautiful bird and he certainly acts as though his disability doesn't bother him at all.

Splendid capture of this handsome bird. He seems to have compensated well for the loss of his leg, and you have made a beautiful sharp photo of him.

This bird can probably do more tricks than a monkey on a yard of vine. Amazing how they adapt. We don't have anything like that here. The bird is gorgeous. He should be looked at. Good crisp capture. If you are saying you nursed him back to health- many kudos to you.
