Nope, no rattlers in the Edmonton area, but this was an unusual find along a trail in the Whitemud Ravine. Luckily for Brooke & I, the owner had long left their old coat behind in the reeds.

So this shot is a true manipulation, as the subject is posed in the nearby grass (and a touch of HDR to bring the grass out), to give the look that the snake is about to strike.

A pair of boots waiting to happen John. You might start looking for more of these. I like the way you posed the snakeskin.

That's one epidermis I've have no desire to "manipulate", John. Even without any innards, it still scares me. But it is a lovely shot though!

A cool find and very well done. The hdr really brought out the details of the skin.

Now that's something you don't see every day. Can you make me a snakeskin camera gadget bag? Excellent work on the HDR.

Truly an unusual find, John! I too, like the open jaws and comp! Personally, I think the grass is too green, however, I do like the enhanced detail of the skin that the HDR treatment provided. Thanks for sharing :)
