Taken from a bridge in Central, N.Y. on the Seneca River. I added some vignette to add to the dark and cold feel. I think this pic has some potential. Comments? How does this make you feel? Any comments or critiques are appreciated.

wow, thanks a lot. I also preffer this version. It actually was abit over saturated but I toned it down some and did some dodge and burn throughout the picture. Really appreciate the fine comment Les.Hopefully others feel the same. Take care.

Colour seems to impart more mood and feel, and more so ... that of 'being there'.
Don't feel as removed as an observer as I do when viewing the B & W version, and I can't quite explain this.
Additionally and in turn (still on the note of colour), as your apt title suggests ... indeed, some 'cold beauty' is imparted to the viewer.
Add to that ... the slight problem of the overexposed look in sections of the lighted sky (most likely due to post processing/edits) is tamed. Not even apparent to my eyes here, really. Nice smooth gradient of colour and no clipped highlights.
Somber, solitude ... a number of descriptors come to mind and are evoked.
Nice composition. Liking the wide expanse of water/ice in the forefront. So..
Nice shot, nice work here.
Annnnd, but of course ... thank you sharing this slice of.. 'quiet blue'.
