When I was a kid, my father, his brothers, my grandfather, and some of their friends all gathered once a week for the beer guzzling, cigar smoking, chip eating, and profanity-laden ritual known as Friday Night Poker…Most of the time, they all congregated at my father’s house because he had the most space, the largest card table, and was always the one within the closest proximity of his respective neighborhood convenience/deli/liquor store (Which always helped – LOL!)…Until my grandfather finally showed me the terminology pertained to Jacks in profile view, I used to think, “One-Eyed Jacks are Wild” ...meant THIS! Whoa…when I think of the number of times I wasted looking through a deck of cards…

Ron, what a fun photo! I grew up in a card-playing household so I can identify :)) At the age of 5, I was good enough to play poker with the adults. I enjoy the clarity of the cards in your work and the fact my icons don't interfere with your lucky Jacks. Thanks for sharing this; brought back fond memories. - Patty

Ron you should do a poker series... as this one is terrific! We used to play our "poker nights" with dad on Saturdays. Boy do I miss them. You could do "Deuces, Jacks & King with the Axe", "The Dark Queens Kill Them All", "Baseball (3's & 9's)"... well you get the idea. I really like this one, great job my friend!

Very creative. I used to play cards alot in college with an icy beer in one hand and some hot music playing. Now, I haven't played in ages. The song, Bad Moon Rising by CCR. I know it goes theres a bad moon on the rise but I thought they said theres the bathroom on the right.
