Why not live a little and look at My Gallery.
What an excellent shot of this gorgeous birdie. I'm guessing some kind of finch. Jim I have to fave this one ok? :)
Love the colors and can almost feel the feathers. Great close up. sandi♥
Gorgeous shot and I love the birds colors! I love all the colors!..lol..I have no idea either of what kind this is Jimbubba. A mystery bird?..hehe
Excellent post!

It looks like a bluebird who mama got friendly with a sparrow. If it is in the zoo and behind bars, then obviously it is a jail bird. That was too easy. Great post JimboB. If he tells you what is would that make him a stool pigeon. I'd better quit.
What a beauty JimBob, I like the way it has its head cocked as if it's waiting for you to press the shutter. I don't know what it is, but it certainly looks like it enjoyed posing for you. It has gorgeous colours in the plumage too.
Where's Gregg (Eggray) when you need him eh!!! he would tell you right off what this is!!!!....I know it isn't a Crow though! or a Bird of Prey!!...does that help?...
Fine piece of camera work pal...super composition too!
That's The Elusive, Rarely Seen and Seldomly Heard Mile-A-More Bird Jim.
What's that you say ?
What's a Mile-A-More Bird ?
That's a Bird that sticks it's Head In The Sand, Whistles Through It's Butt, and You Can Hear Him For A Mile-A-More.
Now, do I know Birds Or What ? LOL.
Excellent Capture of One of the Most Colorful Birds I've Ever seen this side of a Parrot.
Thanks for sharing Jim.
It's a red-billed blue-headed brown bird. (Nah, I'm just whistlin' through my butt.) It' a colorful little guy, and you have a great shot here, man. Awesome color and great detail.
Hey Jim, I've tried looking that type of bird up, but I don't have my birdbook with me in Alberta. This sure really cute bird with such beautiful colours. The clarity and close up work is FABULOUS, job extremely well done.
Great shot! ...
Ok, I HAD to find out. I think it is a female Blue-faced Parrot Finch. check out this link http://www.finchworld.com/Birds/Finch/parrot_finch/blue_faced/index.htm She is a beauty and so is the male!
Nice pic. Birds make the greatest subjects. They'r not like kids as they don't need to smile and their eyes don't have to be looking at the right place.
