Here's a BEFORE shot of the bridge. It got all new siding and a new floor and roof. A lot of the historic value is gone, but at least it is still there to enjoy.
Smile, without a reason why. Love, as if you were a child, Smile, no matter what they tell you Don't listen to a word they say Cause life is beautiful that way. (From the film "Life Is Beautiful")
I grew up (in Ohio) with a love for covered bridges and I love the shots You've shared of the Mull Bridge, both before and after renovations. This shot with the beautiful sky is (as Russ stated) postcard perfect. Even though I love the look of the old bridge, I am thrilled that the bridge will have an even longer life due to renovations. This is a great image of the bridge in its beautiful, peaceful setting, JimBob.
Jimbob, this is picture perfect, I wonder if you could show this to the county office where the bridge is located. I do prefer the older structure for the historic value, but now it can last for a very long time, and was worth saving. tigs=^..^=
I too like the older version - I wonder why they didn't used a weathered grey wood that would have more closely matched the original rather than the red. Having said that, this shot is excellent Jim and I like how the light comes under the bridge - it really highlights the structure that way.
You captured the renovated bridge just perfectly Jimbob - the overall scenery is quite lovely - I see they have provided information posted on a sign to the left and also a nice bench - I do like the old bridge better - the new renovation could have been given a bit of a rustic effect - Excellent Shot!!!!!!!!!
Jimbob, for photographic reasons I prefer the old one. For crossing the stream however, this one is my favorite. Safety has a higher priority rather than beauty. That's life mate, lol! Good one!!
