Holy guacamole that's a great close up!! Super detail in the Caterpillar. No macro lens? Then who needs one?

Very nice macro Jim. Looks like shes a Queen atop her throne. A quick suggestion when taking close-ups. If you take the picture back further you will be able to get a larger DOF and crop it back down with a editing program. It is still an excellent picture and I hope the suggestion helps you.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??
what a cute little fellow! lol! Perfect capture Jim - focus is all on the caterpillar - the light on his back really shows off the tiny little hairs all over his body! well done!

This picture is so perfect. Very tender shot of such a small creature. Your colors are so rich. And I like the depth of field. By now that little guy is a beautiful butterfly somewhere! Tomorrow this will be my desktop at work.. so thanks. Quiet
