The Shire Horse is the biggest of the heavy horses found in the UK. It is known as the 'gentle giant'…It is said, that the Shire first came to England in 1066 with William the Conqueror..... They are exhibited at various country shows, delighting audiences; sometimes they're the star attraction…..This one roams freely on a farm with his friends which is only a 10 minute drive from where I live…….Please enjoy.

Gorgeous horse! By the way, Shire horse is the biggest horse breed in the whole world, not just in British Isles. They are great horses in every way.

I guess he won't be pulling a Bud Light wagon anytime soon Mick. He looks pretty good for his age. They are a beautiful animal and you captured it perfectly as usual.

You've brought out the strong colour and detail in its coat very well Mick, I can even see the muscles and sinews beneath. The green of the background is very intense and certainly makes this one stand out.
