The weather in Scotland can be harsh, the landscape battered by cold, driving rain and snow. Highland cattle have been part of this landscape for thousand of years……This Highland bull was very calm and confident who allowed me to get in close to take his photograph….When I was a lad my father told me that a female Highland cow with new born calves although generally gentle should always be approached with caution…….Please e enjoy.

The "Running of the Bulls" is just one false step away Mick.
Again you use the lighting to perfection. Do you have a hover craft with a light attached? :)

Wonderful work.

He looks so cool! Lots of Highland cattle here in NZ and always very photogenic but it needs your magic tough to make them look like this. Thanks for sharing.

I truly wish I could come see these landscapes in person. A fantastic dramatic sky. With your image and narrative I can't help but feel nostalgic. So similar to an old wall hanging at my grandmothers. Your father was so right.... yet true of most mothers. lol

Hi Mick, I really like the theme. Reminds me of our stock dam back on the farm. A little different scenery, but I have seen that look before by our bull.Nice photo

Mick this is a beautiful. I love the depth of it. Our Herford cattle were crossbred from the highland cattle.

He has quite a set of horns on him Mick! It reminds me of a oil painting from the 18th century by the way the golden light shines on the bull with a dark and gloomy sky in the distance...most impressive!

A very exciting photograph, Mick, in more ways than one. :)

The dark sky and shadows add a nice bit of drama to the scene, and the sunlight is marvelous. Terrific color in this shot, as well. Another masterpiece from you. Well done!

Fantastic looking photo. A wonderful pastoral scene that would make a lovely painting. Beautiful colours highlighted by the gorgeous lighting in the scene. Very nicely composed and presented.

Everything goes fine, believe me! If life itsself is tough, then fight back. You have nothing to loose, just anything to win. Look at it from the bright side, no worries!
