[A comment request brings a non-photographer here to comment on that of which said non-photographer is sadly wholly ignorant.]
This is a lovely scene and it seems well done to me. I like the way the closer trees and brush frame the shot and how these trees form a continuous line to link with those in the distance. I also like the way the light is playing on the trees and water. It's a nice mix of light and shadow. The scene feels very peaceful and calm.
If I was to use this as a desktop and had icons, I would probably flip it so the framing trees (currently mostly on the right) weren't obscured by icons. I would probably do that anyway since my dock is on the right, but that's non-standard. For Windows I expect this way around would be fine.
The main suggestion I would make would be to upload at a larger size - 1600x1200 is ideal. I'm on a 12" laptop which is pretty small and still need 1024x768, so I think the sizes you have here will probably reduce the number of people taking an interest in the image which seems a shame.
Otherwise, very nice work.
