The only grasshoppers I ever see are green. This one has put on some pretty colorful duds for getting his picture taken. Great looking shot of that pretty little bugger! Well done, Marsha.

I couldn't let this one pass by without saying something....metallic-skinned insects are brutally hard to shoot properly. I'll occasionally catch a hoverfly either eating or at rest and the reflections off it's polished body are almost impossible to eliminate. You'll need some kind of diffuser to break up & soften the light. Then you can dial the flash down and reduce the blowouts. That grasshopper will look so good, you'll want it served on a plate.
