Taken at the edge of the Roosevelt Reservoir Lake near Globe, AZ. The lake and the Superstition Mountains can be fuzzily seen in the background.

It is not my favorite, but I do like the mountains in the background and how it makes you focus on the "Stick?" :) Nice job.

A nicely presented and interesting photo. The growth on the tree looks like spiders are crawling along it. I like the blurred background and the colours in it. Thanks for sharing.

I like images that use a narrow doff to give a feeling of depth. This works well, with the light colours in the foreground and the darker mountains in the back. It really deserves a higher mark than it has. However, you have to be careful. The foreground is not quite as sharp as it could be and that lessens the impact of the image when enlarged or on a desktop. The background is tilted a little, which can add to an image, but I am not sure you have enough tilt to add impact, rather it distracts. Also the sticks on the right and the diagonal one reduce the purity of the image. Without them you would have a left right split of sharp verticals and horizontal blurs. As it is the image is, to me, a little off balance.

I agree with much of what coram9 said, although I don't understand much of what he said. It just sorta sounds right if you know what I mean. A C-Index of 27 is unjustifiable. I was rather bored one evening and looked at many of the older images on Caedes. I found that the voters back in the early days were much more honest with their votes than what I see these days. I can't figure out why anyone would award a 2 or 3 to this shot. I've never given a 2 and only an occasional 3. To rate a three the shot has to look like an old polaroid with withered colors. It has to be out of focus and must have a subject that is so very dull that the shot is pointless.

Honestly there is a focus issue. I'd still give it a 4 if I was in a really bad mood.

Thanks for all the comments and constructive criticism. Without that type of honesty, how would one improve their abilities? Thanks much and keep the comments coming.
