These are the Superstition Mountains as viewed from Apache Junction, AZ. I shot this on a nice sunny day and combined it with a picture of some clouds. But the real challenge was to invent an algorithm to generate the lightning. These mountains are considered somewhat mysterious, but I took it on myself to make them even more eerie. I used my own software, and PhotoScape to adjust the gamma, contrast and saturation. This is my entry for the "Electricity" contest. The lightning algorithm needs improvement, but for now it is what it is.

Whoa, now this is really spooky looking. Maybe a tornado is coming, run for cover.

There sure is lots of electrical power in that lighting. Wonderful work and posting for the current contest, Good Luck Ted
