You may be puzzled by the title. This as a roadside shot. There was a flash as I clicked and I though the auto flash had activated but it was in fact a flash of lightning which was quickly followed by a roll of thunder and the first drops of rain of the storm we were driving into. Time to dash back to the car! I spent some time removing the power lines from this image, and then decided to leave them in as perhaps they add perspective.Do you agree? . . Canon 450D....thanks for looking, comments are always welcome.

Yep, I looked all over for the lightening:) Think I would prefer to see this w/o the powerlines though as the fence sets the perspective stage already jmo. A grand and beautiful country you live in. Love the light.

I think someone with a much larger flash lit up this great scene for you Lyn. The fence does set the perspective. The scene is gorgeous. Great post.

A wonderful stormy scene with quite eerie lighting. I like the power lines so I'm glad you kept them.

Excellent shot, Eve. I would prefer it without the powerlines.

I like the powerlines. I really love the way that you have captured that pre storm lighting. An excellent shot.

Absolutely beautiful landscape, for me tho the power lines do distract from the beauty. The fence does provide a good perspective, in fact a very interesting one. Darn power lines! Have you tried cropping it a bit to remove most of the power lines?

I love this one, but I would personally remove the power lines. They diminish the 'wilderness feeling' and simply distract the eye in the wrong direction. Excellent clarity, contrast is spot on!!!

Wonderful color and depth, Eve. If the power lines were a bit more to the right, I'd have been tempted to leave them, but for this shot, I think remove would be a better choice. But, what? Should we deny that there are indeed power lines in our beautiuful world! lol I don't find them intrusive and I am one of those silly fools who likes people in the shots too! lol

Love the colors and the scene. Did you clear that fence in a single bound after the lightning and thunder?

Nice work LE, looks like the Wild Wild West. We have thunderstorms here this morning, but my thoughts right now are with anyone in the path of Gustav. I guess we have nothing to complain about in that context. Great colours and rugged tones in this one.

Very good clarity and DOF, Lyn. I too would have preferred the scene without the cables but it doesn't matter. The photo is beautiful.

Excellent shot Lyn. You capture it wonderful. We have had some storms here too. Almost every afternoon through the whole summer. But the skies is fantastic to watch when a storm is coming.

Nope, power lines have to go. Don't like'em. What a gorgeous scene. I love the clash of the browns against the blues. Another keeper.
