For Friday

A TUI visited our blossoming Kowhai several evenings in a row and sang for us. Tuis have a wonderful song. They actually have two voice boxes and a great range of notes, and in days gone by were trained to mimic the human voice..
To have a New Zealand native bird enjoying a native tree was quite special.
This photo was taken a few days before an enormous storm we had last Tuesday when the 150kph winds caused much damage. Gardens suffered as well so I was glad to have captured these golden blossoms before they succumbed to Mother Nature's fury. I just wish I had a photo of the Tui - I did try but I am hopeless at bird shots.
Comments always welcome :)

I hope there is nothing about me [reference to chatterboxes LOL].
Pity about the losses. Mother Nature...
Them birdies seem to be lovely characters though. Would love to get one for Boris to teach him to speak, speak correctly I mean...LOL
SAAB says thanks for the rare image that he can see in full: blue and yellow is just about all that dogs can actually see plus motion.
Lovely Foofy for a dreary day here in Szczecin.
Thanks for the energy, power and 3 * cheers to New Zealand.

The flowers look golden in the sun Lyn - bright and beautiful. Hope the storm has not driven the TUI away for good. It looks somewhat like a blue myna - also a talking/singing bird.

Unusual blossoms and quite lovely - I share your problems with bird shots - they are so much faster than I these days.
