Gorse (Ulex europaeus) was originally introduced into New Zealand as a hedge species. It thrives so well here it flowers twice a year.
Although an invasive weed it makes a beautiful sight and the scent is divine. It is difficult to eradicate as the seeds can lie dormant on the ground for up to 50 years.
I captured this beside the beach today with Panasonic TZ60.
Thank you for looking and for any comments :)

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Perfect image, lighting and (out of the border) presentation Lyn.
The only thing that I miss, is its fragrance, but therefore are we, human beings, 'equipped' with imagination, lol.

It is a beautiful plant and You've photographed it nicely, Lyn. Some of our most beautiful flowers seem to be labeled weeds or invasive; while we go on enjoying their beauty, another is cursing their existence.
