Smiling in the sunshine.

Do flowers smile?
I believe they do
And if you believe
And are quiet
You may hear them singing too !

POLYANTHUS

Between two rocks

The Polyanthus grows,

Tucked in a crevice

By the waterfall.

Its dark green leaves

A parasol,

Rest upon the mossy stones

Absorbing light.

Deep down, its crown

Nestles in the overhang,

Keeping shade;

To sprout new shoots

And send down roots

Through niches and cracks

Where moisture clings

To adjacent rocks.

In Spring its flowers

Bloom red and amber,

Peeping from the stones

To catch the sun;

And Summers heat

Dries out the pods

Whose seeds spill out

Upon the grass below

I do think they are smiling and even singing sometimes - who are we to say they are not?

On my screen they are smiling to me as well, Lyn! Brings me in a happy mood.
Think I must have some patience now in order hear them sing along with me, ☺ .

Lovely color and a well taken shot Lyn. Not only do they smile but when a gentle breeze blows they wave and smile.
