The duck pond in the gardens. It's proper name is Mirror Lake. In the past we would take bread to feed the ducks and they would swim towards anyone approaching. Now we ae asked not to feed them bread as it is bad for them. Special grain & seed food can be given.

Lyn, in my country there are petting zoos that also house certain animals such as goats, chickens, rabbits, deer, ducks, geese, swans, etc. People think it would be a good idea to feed these animals. Here too, people are asked not to do this because the animals would then receive one-sided food with the risk that their condition would deteriorate alarmingly.
