We learned this seal was on the shore today so we went to have a look. They are the largest and deepest diving seal in the world and spend 80% of their lives in deep waters so it was a privilege to see this one. I think it was about 12 feet in length, and not fully grown yet .

Lyn, this 'baby seal' (😁) is already a huge one. It's color is almost similar to the rocks where it's laying on. Perfect camouflage although I suspect that it hasn't much natural enemies when not being submerged because of its size. Very good and pretty rare shot!

I see them around here often but different and no where near as big. He almost blends in with the rock but you did a fine job of bringing him out.
