The old beguinage of Bruges contains mostly houses of the 17th century but it was actually founded in 1230.Like Ghent, but on a more concentrated scale, Bruges has most of its medieval architecture intact. Bruges(Brugge = Flemish) West Flanders - Belgium.

Perfectly ballanced image, the houses on the left filling the left part, the church behind the treebrances filling the right part, the nun filling up empty space, near the center of the image...and the flowers filling up the rest.
Being your neighbor to the north, we do have such places to...but i would have a very very hard time finding such a pristine place without cars though.. wonderful wonderfull shot.

Two seasons in one photo. The beautiful spring flowers and the starkness of the winter trees. On the verge of spring with winter holding on. Beautiful..
